Crossdressing Tips: Concealing Your Shapewear

03/05/2022

Shapewear comes in handy for crossdressers. Male and female bodies have several noticeable differences.

And different types of shapewear exist to change that.

They reduce those differences and help men achieve a more feminine figure with curves and an hourglass silhouette.

However, they may be difficult to hide, and a seamless look is what crossdressers want to achieve.

If your shapewear is visible through your outfit, people may notice that you’re wearing them and become suspicious.

Besides that, it doesn’t look good at all.

But you can manage to hide it and achieve a seamless effect.

Watch out for the thickness of your clothes’ fabric, and make sure your shapewear matches the color.

Also, pay attention to the results and try to avoid exaggerations.

You’ll get all the benefits that come from shapewear while still maintaining a silhouette that looks natural and feminine.

1. Use thicker or loose clothing

One of the biggest problems with shapewear is the lines that show through our clothes.

That’s because most shapewear, such as corsets and waist cinchers, have a rough texture.

It contrasts with smooth or thin types of fabric, causing them to deform and look weird while we wear them.

Besides that, people may notice and figure out that you’re using shapewear. This way, they may spot you as a crossdresser.

To deal with that, my advice is for you to wear thicker clothes.

It makes it more difficult for the shapewear to show through them.

The thicker the fabric of your clothes is, the higher the chances of it keeping its shape.

Another option is to wear less tight clothes.

Even though loose clothes don’t highlight your silhouette so much, they are still less likely to reveal what’s underneath.

2. Match the shapewear color

The color of the shapewear is also important. For example, dark-colored shapewear is more likely to be visible through white shirts.

So, matching the colors may help you conceal them.

Give preference to darker tones while using shapewear, making it harder to spot.

Besides that, a black outfit may work alongside your corset, outlining your silhouette and enhancing your curves.

But if you want to dress up in a white outfit, it’s better to choose shapewear that matches your skin tone.

It makes everything blend, creating a seamless effect.

A third option would be the use of an outfit with lots of details and patterns that blend with shapewear marks.

However, I find this method quite limiting, as a lot reduces your outfit options.

3. Avoid exaggerations

It’s common for crossdressers to choose their shapewear based on compression rates.

You may think that reducing your waist or increasing your hips as much as possible will make you look more feminine.

But that’s not ipi s the case. It would be best if you thought about proportion and how women look feminine in a natural way.

By exaggerating the compression, the shapewear will become obvious, and the results will look far from natural.

Your silhouette will become a disproportional mess, with little ipi’s femininity.

To avoid that, you must choose shapewear with moderate compression.

It will give you curves but still keep the proportions right.

This ipi is also valid for breast forms and hip pads, as it’s better to choose something that matches your body instead of the bigger ones available.

4. Make sure it matches your size

Sometimes, crossdressers end up buying shapewear in smaller sizes.

Even smaller than the ones they used to wear.

It comes from a false perspective that they will provide a more efficient compression.

But I wouldn’t recommend this technique.

Compression is not the only thing you should consider when buying your shapewear.

In the case of corsets, for example, you should consider their height and length as well.

You must make sure you’re compressing the right parts of your body.

Using shapewear that doesn’t fit you may result in an awkward compression.

And that does not resemble a feminine frame. Besides that, it will create irregular shapes on the shapewear’s surface.

They are more likely to be visible through your clothes.

However, if you get the size right, it will match your body and provide better coverage, with fewer chances of being visible.

With that in mind, I recommend you take your measurements and check size charts before purchasing shapewear.

5. Use layering to smoothen the shapewear lines

If, after all of that, the shapewear lines showing through your clothes still bother you, you may try layering.

It consists of using multiple layers of coverage to smoothen the surface and make your shapewear less visible.

For hip pads and gaffs, I recommend you use a couple of pantyhose stockings to smoothen the area and make your hips curvier.

To conceal corsets and cinchers, you can use modeling control camisoles.

But the best alternative for layering is to cover everything with a silicone bodysuit.

It allows you to use more revealing outfits without showing any trace of your shapewear.

Crossdressing Tips: Concealing Your Shapewear

Shapewear is quite useful but may be difficult to hide.

You must understand a few things about the thickness and colors of your outfits to choose your shapewear better.

It’s also important to get the size right and make sure the compression is proportional.

You want the garments to blend with your silhouette, and the best way to do that is to make everything match.
