Types of Shoes that Every Crossdresser Must Have
Hello again, darlings! I’ve come today with a very special item for every crossdresser: shoes.
Shoes are the appendix of both clothing and elegance.
They are key in making you feel completely different as your whole body movement changes.
That’s why we are going to see what are the best types of shoes for crossdressers.
As a crossdresser, it is very difficult to find quality shoes in our sizes.
The market is usually aimed at biological women who tend to have smaller feet.
But even if you happen to be in the lower shoe sizes range, it can still be a hassle buying nice ones.
Keep reading to find out what the best shoes are for any crossdresser to help them feel feminine and let them develop their sexy walk!
◆ Safety First
As I usually state in all my articles and posts, I recommend above all means that you remain safe no matter what you are doing.
This, of course, extends to crossdressing and keeping your anxiety in check.
I know that many men around the world crossdress to relieve stress.
This, and the fact that crossdressing is not easily accepted by everyone, may lead to some beginners’ mistakes that can lead you to harm.
With that in mind, I want to discuss the precautions when buying shoes.
High heels shoes are one of the most feminine items of clothing for sure.
I think that everyone who has been crossdressing seriously for years must have at least a pair.
And many, in the rush, go directly for shoes with very high heels. That’s a terrible mistake.
If you are buying your first pair, I suggest you start with lower and broader heels and acquire practice walking in them first.
You will notice how you need to move differently when wearing heels, and it takes some time to adjust.
This will save you from serious falls and injuries.
And, of course, if you have the chance to try them on beforehand, better yet.
You will see then if it fits right and if it’s comfortable enough.
1. Heeled Wedges
Heeled wedges are an amazing first pair of shoes for every crossdresser who is getting into the world to start practicing.
Usually, feminine sandals are open and feature a broad and low heel.
This allows maneuverability for beginners and time to adapt the mannerisms for walking elegantly.
In addition, they are usually cheaper than stilettos and of better quality when in the same price range.
That makes it a safer bet and lets you acquire your own experience by spending less money.
2. Heeled Flip-Flops/Beach Sandals
I know what you are thinking, but hear me out.
They may not be the most fashionable shoe there is, nor the most feminine one.
But if you buy some of these that are made out of rubber, they work wonders as training shoes, as I am speaking about those shoes that are entirely made out of plastic, which allows them to be soaked in water without getting spoiled.
If you live in a noisy apartment, these kinds of shoes will let you practice discreetly without disturbing any neighbors.
Let me add that according to your level of practice; you can also use them while you shower if you have little time for your sessions during the week.
Besides, they are easily found in all sizes on the internet and are very cheap.
If you want to start your experience with high heels on the cheap, these are a great option.
3. Stilettos
Of course, no list of best shoes for crossdressers could be complete without some classy and untimely stilettos.
For those that don’t know, there’s nothing that a quick search on the web can’t solve.
I’m sure you’ve seen them, and if you are reading this, you loved them.
They cover most of the lower part of your feet, and you can find them featuring open toes or not.
The most iconic part of it is, obviously, the thin and long heel.
It’s one of the most feminine types of shoes there is, and they force you to walk, moving your hips in the most womanly and elegant way possible.
They are available in the widest gamut of colors, making them the ultimate and fanciest weapon in a crossdresser’s wardrobe.
These are not apt for beginners. Walking in them requires practice and a lot of experience with lower heels.
Twisting your ankle is a very frequent accident.
There are also versions of this kind of shoe with a lower heel.
Pumps are a good previous step for stilettos.
4. High-Heeled Boots
High-heeled boots are to stilettos what platinum is to gold.
If you are confident walking in very high heels, boots are the next and final step.
As with stilettos, they require some serious skills to dominate the heights.
Because of how high the legs reach, they restrict your movements even more.
But not everything is bad news. Because if you are comfortable enough with high heels, you will be able to walk in them with no problem.
In addition, as they can reach as high as mid-thigh, boots offer coverage for your knees and a slimming effect on your whole leg.
Helping your legs look sexier, longer, and more feminine.
Find your favorite kind of finish and get some after you get the experience necessary with the previous steps.
5. Mary Janes
If you are into Lolita fashion, then these are definitely for you.
This style features a low platform, low heels, and an opening that reveals the upper side of your feet with a strap across.
These shoes are easy to walk in and are great for beginners and pros alike if you dig this fashion.
Mary Janes are very cute and youthful and go perfectly with a pleated dress or skirt.
6. Straps and Open Toes
This kind of shoe is for all those who want to flaunt the beauty of their legs and their pedicure.
Strapped shoes are very stylish and offer the possibility for you to show off your feet.
These straps embrace your skin, creating a slimming effect if you find the right one.
In addition, if you recently got your feet done and treated yourself to a pedicure, the band that is across your toes features a hole through which they can be seen.
You can find them in all kinds of styles, either with heels or not. Strappy shoes aren’t the best for beginners.
Their lack of material and foot support makes them apt only for those with enough balance and training.
7. Slippers
A shoe doesn’t need to feature a heel to be part of every crossdresser’s life.
Even though it is true heels make any type of shoe feminine, some scream femininity without them as well.
A nice fluffy pair of slippers is the perfect example of it.
The fact that they do not are heeled, has nothing against the utter feminine energy they spill.
As they are comfortable and you can find styles for all seasons, they help you incorporate a further touch of femininity into your everyday life.
You can wear them as soon as you get home after a long and tiring day.
Just enough time to help you relax and start practicing your walking with the previous styles!
8. Platform Shoes
These types of shoes are perfect if you want to look taller as an alternative to high-heels.
You can find them in all sorts of styles, and some of them are rather easy to walk in, while others can be a serious challenge for many.
As the name suggests, beneath your feet, you will find a towering platform that can be as low or high as you like.
Some styles feature a broad platform that offers comfort and support to every step.
On the contrary, other types come with a thin and difficult-to-stand platform.
Stay away from this if you lack the proper balance and experience walking in high heels.
Speaking of which, the distinctive trait of this style makes you look higher while “technically” using a lower heel.
Here’s how it works: take a 4-inch heel shoe with a 3-inch platform; in these, you will be walking as you’d wear in 1-inch heel shoes.
In the meantime, all four inches are added to your height while reducing the difficulty of wearing high heels.
I recommend you start with shoes with a wide and comfortable platform to start scaling up from there.
◆ How to Take Care of Your Shoe Collection
To make your shoe collection last longer, I thought it best to write down some tips on how to take care of them:
- As soon as you get new shoes, spray them with a waterproof protector. Choose the protector according to the fabric of the shoe, as they are not all the same. Unless the shoe is specifically designed for wearing in a wet and splashy situation, water is no friend of shoes.
- In case your shoes get wet, leave them out to dry completely before storing them to prevent mold from appearing. Dry them out with a paper towel or similar, and leave them in a warm ambiance.
- If you have shoes with a leather finish, you should polish them from time to time. Polishing your leather shoes not only keeps them looking shiny and neat but also helps protect them against water.
- Don’t fidget too much with the straps of your shoes. Straps have the freedom to move a lot, making them more prone to wear out in time. Proper storage and minimizing the stress of the straps will make your shoes look good longer.
- If you are a velvet fan like me, two things will cover most bases. First, spray them with a waterproof protector. Of all the finishes you can choose from, velvet is the one that ruins the faster when in contact with water. Second, keep them away from sources of heat. If you think leaving your shoes next to a heater or a fire after they get wet is a good idea, let me tell you it’s not.
◆ Where to Buy Shoes
Biological males have bigger feet than biological females in most cases.
Not only longer but also wider. This makes finding shoes that fit properly hard for many crossdressers as most brands don’t produce sizes over 10″.
If you are having trouble finding shoes in your size, Crossdressing Closet has a wide variety of styles and sizes up to 17!
Another shop that also offers stylish shoes in big sizes is DressTech.
I’m sure that you’ll find something you love and fit.
Both of these companies ship worldwide in case you happen to be across the globe.
If you are one of the lucky ones with small feet, you can try shopping at any regular shoe store.
I love the selection that DollsKill has on their website.
Unfortunately, they don’t have sizes bigger than 10″.
If you are buying your shoes from a traditional store, remember there is a difference between men’s and women’s sizes in the US.
The difference in how they are marked is about one and a half sizes. That makes a man’s size six a woman’s 7.5.
Be aware of this when you think you find a store with the shoe you like in your size to avoid coming back to return it.
On a side note on quality, there’s no universal advice I believe. Trusted brands have some faulty batches, too.
It is easier to measure the quality of an item when you see it with your own eyes.
There are many great deals around the corner almost everywhere.
Whether it be a garage sale, black Friday, or the holiday season, if you keep your eyes open, you will come across great opportunities.
If you are still building up your stash of feminine clothing, this is a nice way to do so.
Another tip for when shopping: subscribe to every newsletter of your favorite brands.
They will advertise their sales and assure you don’t miss out on any deals.
It will allow you to add very interesting and unique items to your wardrobe.
This is just a glimpse inside the world of feminine shoes that are perfect for crossdressers.
If you like this selection or not, please feel free to let me know in the comments below.
