Is My Crossdressing Just a Phase?
Hello, lovelies! Hope you are all taking good care of your mind and body! Today’s post is dedicated to all those who enjoy crossdressing, have done so in the past, or wish to try it out.
We are going to talk about your feelings and possible reasons as to why you like it.
Because we live in a world full of obsolete standards, it is easy to feel like you are losing your mind sometimes.
Especially when you are trying to swim against the current.
And because gender is such a delicate issue in some parts, it makes it harder to come out and share your thoughts.
Join me in this journey of self-discovery and find your inner peace!
1. Why Are We Afraid of Crossdressing?
Whether you enjoy wearing feminine clothing or have the desire to and were assigned male at birth, then you have a crossdressing itch.
Worry not because it is very common. In fact, it is more common than you may think.
Women wearing pants would’ve been considered cross-dressing a century ago.
Now, it’s quite normal to see biological women wear them every day.
Even in Scotland, a man wearing a kilt fits the standard “dress code” for his gender.
As we can see, fears and insecurities have nothing to do with whatever piece of clothing we are talking about.
Then why do fears and insecurities appear when we realize we want to crossdress?
These dreadful emotions are present when we realize that we don’t fit within the gender standards.
Clothing is just the desire to materialize visually how we feel and who we are.
Let that sink, and read that sentence once again.
2. Why Does the Crossdressing Itch Appear?
The itch for crossdressing appears just like any other desire.
Because we want to express and feel something about ourselves or the things we love.
And the idea of being ashamed because of something we like is ridiculous.
Not fitting in and having the fear of being rejected by loved ones is a different issue.
But today’s main objective is to begin to understand and deal with our feelings about ourselves.
We must allow the opportunity to explore our feelings safely.
You are not hurting anyone while wearing feminine clothes, so there’s no reason to feel bad about it.
There are countless immoral acts, but crossdressing is not by far one of them.
Your gender comes by no means with responsibilities that you must take care of, apart from those that make you happy.
If you want to learn a little more about the cross-dressing itch, you can read this other post.
3. Crossdressing Is a Matter of Gender
Gender is a social construct. As such, there isn’t a unique way to see it.
Today, gender seems to come with a set of rules and standards written in stone.
At least, this is what the majority of the mainstream media seems to think.
Nothing further from reality. Masculinity and femininity are not constructs that should not be interpreted as whole units.
The gender spectrum has an infinite way to manifest in persons.
And that’s just one of the things that make us unique and amazing!
The reasons why men crossdress are many, as you can see in this other article.
But the important thing is that you discover why you want to do it and try it out!
Many positive aspects of crossdressing don’t enjoy the same press as these myths.
4. Accepting Who You Are
Whether you are wondering if you are ever going to stop cross-dressing or if that desire to do it is ever going away, I want to suggest that you think about something first. Why would you ever? Is cross-dressing getting in the way of your life? Or is it the other way around? If your inner femininity is causing troubles in your life, maybe it is time to start investigating gender-affirming treatments.
But if you can enjoy your crossdressing without causing trouble in your or others’ lives, why stop? If you’ve been doing it or wondering about it for a long time, it isn’t a phase. Accepting it will help you move on to the next phase, in which you decide how to enjoy the femininity that flourishes inside you. Believe me when I tell you that once you learn to do so, you will be much happier!
Well, gals, these are my thoughts on how crossdressing is hardly a phase. You can do it regularly, occasionally, or not at all. But if there’s a big feminine side inside, it’s hard to let it go away. And thank goddess, it won’t! Life’s better to enjoy fully with all the complexities in you! I would love to hear about the fears and doubts you may have about cross-dressing. I invite you to read some of the other posts on this blog. I’m sure you will find a lot of help there. I hope I have been of some help today! Take good care of yourselves!
