How to Shape the Most Suitable Eyebrows as Crossdressers
As a crossdresser, your eyebrows are very vital as they are capable of telling the type of person you are by how you shape them, as well as affecting your facial appearance. In this regard, ensure to always keep well-shaped eyebrows. After numerous persistent attempts at finding the right shape, I have finally come up with a suitable pattern for my eyebrows shape.
To shape the most suitable eyebrows, you have to consider factors like your face shape, other facial features, and your fashion style. Since men generally have thicker eyebrows than women, and most crossdressers’ eyebrows are not natural enough, they end up not masking the strength of their features.
This post will teach you how to shape your eyebrows to make you fabulous as a crossdresser and help you achieve the perfect feminine makeup.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
A little note before we begin: I have discovered that with time, that the eyebrows are a very important feature of the female face and they tend to grow out of any shape you create so it is important that you shape very often. At least, every month.
So, here’s how to feminize your eyebrows:
1. Determine your face shape
Determining the face shape is important when it comes to shaping the most suitable eyebrows. So how did I know the kind of face I had?
● 5 Steps to measure your face
Step 1: Get the right tools
Step 2: Measure the forehead
Step 3: Measure cheekbones
Step 4: Measure the jawline
Step 5: Measure the face length
After taking those measurements, I took note of the largest among them. When you do yours, compare the measurements with what you read below to know which one best describes your face shape.
● Oval face shape
The measurement of your forehead will be larger than that of your jawline and your face length would be greater than the width of your cheekbones.
This is the best face shape anyone can have. So, if you are a crossdresser that has this type of shape, you should be excited. Oval face allows you to explore any type of eyebrow shape on your face as long as the height of your eyebrows is rounded. You always need to get your thickness correctly. Use slimmer arches if your facial features are small. Thicker eyebrows would be good for you if you have big lips, a high forehead, or big eyes.
● Round face shape
If you have a round face shape, the measurements of your cheekbones and face length would be similar and they are usually greater than that of your jawline and forehead.
Create a well-defined eyebrow with angled arches and very long ends if you have a round face shape. Shaping this kind of eyebrows will make your round face look oval and slimmer. Create a high arch to make your face structure pop. You must make sure your eyebrows are well-contoured, so you look good.
● Oblong or rectangle face shape
The measurements of your jawline, cheekbones, and forehead would be quite similar.
If you have an oblong face, use an angled pencil to create short eyebrows for your face. Focus on the point where your eyebrows end. Don’t create high arches. It will make your face look long and sad. Ensure you get a fuller effect on your face, so it will make it look plump.
Once I determined my face shape, I was able to shape my eyebrows in a suitable way. It also influenced my fashion style positively. I’m sure you’d have the same experience too.
2. How to enhance facial features with brows
Your facial features also determine how you should shape your brows.
The length of the eyes should be similar to the length of the eyebrows: The position of the eyebrows should depend on the distance between the eyes. If you have a wide eye distance, you can move your eyebrows closer to the bridge of your nose. If you have a close eye distance, you can move your eyebrows a little further away from the bridge of your nose.
Eye height determines how thick the brows are. If your eye height is long, then the thickness of your eyebrows should be less but if your eye height is short, the thickness of your eyebrows should be much.
The size of eyes determines the length of my middle eyebrow: If your eyes are small, the length of your middle eyebrow should be short but if you have big eyes, the length of your middle eyebrow should be long.
3. Get the ideal eyebrow shape
To get the ideal eyebrow shape, I prepare my eyebrows and then shape them.
Now, follow me!
● Step 1: Prepare
1) prepare your tools. Here, you’ll need a mirror, tweezers, and an eyebrow brush or any clean straight object.
2) Get rid of stray hairs. I use my tweezers to remove stray hairs in between my two eyebrows and the hairs that are beneath my natural eyebrow.
3) After tweezing my stray hairs, I trim excess hairs on my eyebrows. Trimming my eyebrows makes me look amazing, and it helps me catch stray eyebrow hairs growing in random directions. It’s a bit stressful, but I will simplify it for you.
To trim successfully, you will need a spoolie, eyebrow comb and angled eyebrow scissors.
Here’s how to trim your brows
i. First of all, gently wash your eyebrows.
ii. Comb your eyebrows.
Brush the front of your eyebrows upwards with the eyebrow comb.
iii. Trim excess hairs. Look out for the excess hairs you brushed upwards. Then carefully trim the excess hairs by using eyebrow scissors.
iv. Brush your eyebrows.
With your spoolie, brush your eyebrows in the direction in which you want to shape them. Trim off the excess.
v. Brush in other directions.
After brushing the hair upwards, try brushing them downwards too so you can trim any stray hairs you find. This way, you can completely remove any stray hairs.
The following video will tell you how to trim your eyebrows
Fill out the shape below your eyebrows. Under and above your brows should look well defined and natural as a crossdresser. I always use a shade lighter than the color of my brows to fill in and underline my brows.
● Step 2: Shaping your eyebrows
To show you how to shape your eyebrows perfectly, I will outline what I do to get the perfect shape on mine. Follow me!
1) Use eyeliner to create a start point for brows.
I place the eyebrow brush vertically in such a way that the tip is almost touching the tear duct of my eye. Then, I move the eyebrow brush upwards so that it will meet with the line of my eyebrows.
I then use my tweezer to eliminate any hair before that point I create. I also try not to tweeze beyond the inside corner of my eye. Now, tweezing may be quite painful especially for people who have sensitive skin. If you notice that your skin becomes red after tweezing, apply cortisone cream or aloe vera gel on it, you will feel better afterward.
2) Locate the natural arch.
For this, I place any straight object diagonally from the outer corner of my nostrils to the outer part of my iris. The high point in your arch is found at the spot where the straight object extends to the upper part of your eyebrows. You can tweeze the excess hairs underneath your brows.
3) Locate the end of brows.
Beginning from the outside corner of my nostrils, I then move my eyebrow brush or any clean straight object beyond the outer crease of my eye. This is where your eyebrow should also end. If you find any hair beyond your clean straight object, towards the side of your face, get rid of it. Tweeze only the straggler hairs, don’t tweeze the thick eyebrow hairs.
4) Never make arch too high.
I always keep it angular and low. If your arch looks too high, you can tweeze the hair around it to reduce it a bit so you will have a natural look. Your eyebrows should look angular and sharp, not rounded.
● Step 3: Involved in eyebrow shading
One thing I also love when it comes to my eyebrows is it having a shaded appearance. I don’t do this all the time; I only do it for some occasions. Here are the steps I follow when I want to achieve shaded eyebrows:
1) Lightly trace the shape of my eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil.
2) Fill in the gaps with my eyebrow pencil and sweep the eyebrows with the brush. I also use a lighter color eyebrow pencil to fill in my eyebrows.
3) Fill in my entire eyebrow with powder using an angled brush to give me a more natural look. Brush my eyebrows upwards and outwards so it blends the strokes of the eye pencil with my normal eyebrow hairs.
4) Finally, to have a uniform finish and clean edges, I try to trace the outline of my eyebrows with a concealer and blend it very well.
Once you follow these steps, I can guarantee you’ll look amazing.
Successfully shaping eyebrows and coming out good is a special skill, and not many crossdressers can pull this off. However, if you follow all the instructions I have given above, you’ll never have to worry about your eyebrows again.
