How to Be a Popular Feminine Boy in High School
Hello, my lovely crossdressing friends! Recently, I met some school friends, and we reminisced about many school memories.
They complimented me on my confidence as a feminine boy in school and how I fully embraced my femininity.
Many think it’s challenging, but being a feminine boy in school isn’t as hard as it seems. I did it, and you can too.
You can make many good friends, find the love of your life, express your feminine style, and enjoy a wholesome school experience.
Today, I’ll share some tips to help you navigate high school life as a feminine boy.
Let’s get started.
Keeping Things Simple
By “keeping things simple,” I mean responding naturally and easily.
I know that as crossdressers, many thoughts run through our minds, like “I am not man enough,” “The boys will never accept me in their friend group,” or “The girls will bully me.”
However, most of these worries are more in our heads than in reality.
Especially in today’s times, things are much more gender-neutral.
People are more focused on themselves and are more accepting of femininity in men.
There might be ups and downs, but remind yourself that you’re attractive and return to your confident walk.
Be Confident
Confidence is your best weapon as a feminine man.
rust me, everything around you becomes easier to handle when you’re confident in who you are.
With confidence, you’re funnier, a quality everyone appreciates. It also helps you protect yourself from insults.
You can come up with sassy replies if girls comment on your pink shirt.
And you know what? Everyone is drawn to confident people. So, be confident.
You might even become the “queen bee” of your high school friend group.
Stay as Natural as Possible
Don’t be overly self-conscious, timid, or restricted, but also avoid being too over-the-top.
Find a balance, perhaps just a touch beyond the ordinary.
Be a diligent student, a good classmate, and an overall nice person.
Your identity shouldn’t entirely hinge on your femininity; others should see you as just another student.
Most importantly, dress normally like the way you should do in school.
If boys are required to wear pants and shirts, wear them only.
However, if you wish to express your femininity, there are countless DIY tutorials on how to feminize pants and shirts.
You can try some light makeup and girly accessories like bracelets, anklets, chokers, etc., and adopt feminine body language to show your feminine side.
Respect your high school’s regulations and find ways to highlight your feminine personality.
Don’t Worry About Meeting Gender Expectations
You don’t need to meet the gender expectations.
If you’re feminine and don’t wish to join the football team, that’s perfectly fine.
You don’t have to be buff or athletic if you don’t want to be.
And don’t be anxious over people noticing your feminine side because, honestly, nobody is noticing you that much.
It’s funny how, as crossdressers, we often stress over ensuring our actions seem manly in public.
We’re conscious about not revealing anything overtly feminine or about someone finding out we enjoy crossdressing.
But trust me, no one is paying that much attention to our every move; it’s mostly in our heads.
You are your harshest critic.
Even if you don’t align perfectly with masculinity, probably no one will even notice or care.
Make New Friends
Make as many friends as you can in high school because you’ll remember the time you spent with them.
Be friendly and compassionate to others, even if they aren’t nice to you.
I’d say reach out to everyone to be friends and not just confine yourself to the LGBTQ circle of high school.
In this way, everyone in high school will get to know you.
You’ll become popular, and no one likes to mess with that one popular boy in high school who wears slim-fit floral pants.
Hangout with Understanding Friends Only
Only share your secret with a person you know will understand and support your decision.
This person can assist you in coming out to the rest of the group and can act as a bridge to understanding between you and them.
Also, hang out with people who are more woke and not conservative.
Ignore those Who Don’t Like You
As I said, there will be ups and downs, and not everyone will like your feminine personality.
This is completely normal. Everyone faces such challenges, and it isn’t just about you being a feminine boy.
If you don’t click with some individuals, it’s alright.
I don’t want you to impress people who don’t get you, and it’s a very common thing in high school.
If one group isn’t welcoming, I am sure plenty of others will love your presence.
Some people are legitimate jerks, and the best thing you can do is just ignore them and remind yourself you are fabulous.
Not everyone is worth your time, so focus on people who like you.
Learn How to Handle Bullies
I would say be prepared for bullying and mocking after coming out.
Unfortunately, there will be some ill-minded people who will be rude.
While this can be painful in the initial days, remember that it has nothing to do with your choices; instead, they’re showcasing their lack of understanding.
If they can’t appreciate your beauty, honey, they just lose one of the most amazing friends they could ever have.
People sometimes can’t grasp how someone like you, who crossdresses and comes out, can be so confident.
That’s why they might dislike you, not because of your choices, but they might be envious of your confidence and bravery.
So, the next time that school bully tries to pick on you remember he’s perhaps a sad boy, maybe not getting affection at home.
All you can do is feel sorry for him, right?
Show Your Talents
This is the best way to get popular in high school and make people fall in love with your personality.
Look for opportunities to showcase your talent in high school, whether it’s dancing, singing, acting, sports, or academics.
Find the clubs you’re interested in, join sports teams, volunteer, and attend school events.
This will help you showcase your talents, meet new people, and let them see another side of you rather than focusing entirely on your fashion and gender choices. Join your school’s LGBTQ+ group.
If your school doesn’t have one, ask a teacher to help you start one.
Represent the Lgbtq Community in School
Being someone who embraces gender diversity, you should represent the LGBTQ+ community in your school and work towards educating other school students about the LGBTQ+ community on a school level.
This will not only empower you but also give other people to confidence to come out and express their true identity.
Try to connect and meet with more transgender and crossdresser friends in your school, and try to create an LGBTQ+-friendly culture in school with their help. Support each other, and know that you’re not alone.
Educate People Who Genuinely Want to Know About You
So, many high school students are curious about various topics related to sex and gender because they’re not part of the curriculum.
However, as crossdressers, we tend to have a good understanding of these topics.
If a student genuinely wants to know about something or seems curious, you
should clear their confusion and educate them about diverse gender and sexual identities.
Expect friends or even teachers to ask you questions like, “When did you start feeling like this?”
or “What are your pronouns?” and so on after coming out.
Patiently answer them as if you’re giving a Ted Talk.
I understand that sometimes the questions might not make sense, and you can always choose not to respond.
Conclusion
Now, I know navigating high school as a feminine boy or crossdresser is undoubtedly a journey filled with its set of challenges, but that doesn’t mean you cannot shine in your high school as a feminine man. You can and you definitely will if you just remain true to yourself. Yes, if you stay authentic, you will be more known and loved among your classmates and friends. If you choose to stay closeted to protect your well-being and mental, then don’t be harsh on yourself, as there’s no rush to come out until it feels right.
The people around us are definitely becoming more accepting and understanding about gender fluidity so that things will be easier for you as a student; all you have to do is just be confident. With confidence, you can not only handle negativity but also shine brilliantly.
High school is a very special time in our lives, so make it memorable by being the best version of yourself, unapologetically and wholeheartedly.
