6 Effective Hacks for the Best Pubic Hair Removal Experience
For crossdressers like me, pubic hair removal depends on our preference.
The main reason why I prefer having mine removed is to keep my private parts clean, especially when I sweat.
It also makes tucking my private part easier and more comfortable!
When it’s hair-free down there, wearing underwear that suits my crossdressing outfit becomes easier.
It also helps me feel more feminine too!
There are various hair removal techniques I have tried and tested, and I will be sharing all of these hacks to help you choose which method to try out for your first hair removal experience!
These hacks include homecare and professional hair removal routines, with each having its unique steps and safety precautions.

Pubic Hair in Men Vs. Women
Generally, our pubic hair is the same as women’s, except for the growing pattern and hair quantity.
The pattern our pubic hair follows is diamond-shaped, while it’s a downward triangle shape in women.
These two shapes refer to the area where pubic hair mainly grows.
However, I have learned that these patterns are simply a naming convention, and men and women can have any pattern.
As for the hair quantity, we are hairier than women, including on our private parts, because of our higher testosterone hormone levels.
Our pubic hair removal can be done either at home or by professionals. I have tried both, so let me share my experiences with you.
1. Waxing
Out of all the home-based hair removals I have tried, this is the most painful.
Waxing involves the total removal of hair from its roots, and it can last up to four weeks when done properly.
Even though it was a painful experience, I preferred waxing because hair takes longer to grow back.
I did not feel any itching or irritation after the procedure and during the growth of my pubic hair.
The waxing procedure is quite simple, and you can follow this step-by-step guide:
-
Preparing The Materials You Need and Getting Ready
Of course, you have to prepare your waxing kit and prepare yourself.
In my experience, taking a warm shower right before waxing helped my pores to open to release the hair easily.
I also like to apply baby powder after taking a bath because it makes the experience less painful!
-
The Waxing Proper
The easiest spot to remove your hair and the least painful is at the base of your private part.
Apply small wax patches instead of a huge amount of wax over a large area.
-
Aftercare
Post-waxing aftercare is often neglected when waxing was still my hair removal method.
To avoid irritation or side effects, it’s always best to rub the area with oil in the waxing kit and hop back to the shower straight after to clean your private part.
A good moisturizer can also help the area stay refreshed and smooth.
Another important aftercare you should not forget is not to wear tight underwear a few days after waxing.
If you do so, your skin on the involved area cannot breathe, leading to itching and irritation. You wouldn’t want that, would you?
2. Shaving
Shaving is also a common way of pubic hair removal in men.
However, I do not favor this method because I often cut or injure myself. I can say that shaving is not painful anywhere except when you accidentally cut yourself.
So, if your pain tolerance is low, I recommend trying out shaving following the step-by-step procedure’s safety measures.
Shaving involves the following steps:
-
Selecting The Appropriate Comb Attachment Length
The right length for your comb attachment lets you shave your pubic hair smoothly without the risk of pulling it out and hurting yourself.
-
Trimming Your Pubic Hair Pre-shaving
One of the best lessons I learned for successful shaving is to trim my pubic hair to the optimum length for efficient shaving.
Doing this prevents your razor blade from clogging because of too much hair.
Trimming pre-shaving can also prevent accidental nicks and cuts on your sensitive skin.
-
Showering to Soften Your Hair
It’s best to shower before you shave to soften your pubic hair and make it easier for your razor to glide over your skin smoothly.
-
Lathering with the Shaving Gel or Cream
Lather up with a good quality shaving gel or cream, making sure not to miss any areas that may be sensitive!
Let the cream settle for 5 minutes to do its job properly while also providing an additional layer between yourself and potential nicks from razor blades.
-
Start Shaving with Gentle Strokes
Start with gentle and light strokes while your skin is pulled taut when you’re ready.
My special tip: don’t force the razor and let it glide smoothly on your skin!
Doing this reduces the risks of any irritation or razor bumps.
-
Shaving Aftercare
After shaving, rinse off the area, and don’t forget to moisturize!
I love applying moisturizer because it soothes and softens my skin.
My friends also shared that the moisturizer can help prevent skin irritation or itchiness after shaving.
3. Using Readily Available Depilatories
Fellow queens, if your pain tolerance is extremely low, I suggest using depilatories.
Using depilatory creams is the ultimate solution for the painless removal of pubic hair!
However, you must note that this method is the most temporary home-based pubic hair removal.
It only takes around three days to 1 week, and your pubic hair will most likely grow back again.
The procedure for using depilatory creams is quite straightforward:
-
Trimming Your Pubic Hair
Like any other home-based method, trimming helps to remove your pubic hair more easily.
The shorter the hairs are, the more effective using depilatories is.
You’ll also feel more comfortable when you trim before applying the cream.
-
Follow the Manufacturer’s Instructions
I cannot tell you the right amount of cream or how long it should stay on your skin because each product will be different.
However, I can tell you that you should definitely remember to follow your product’s packaging instructions strictly.
Don’t put more than the instructions suggest, and apply the right amount of cream as directed.
-
Wiping The Cream Off
When it’s time to wipe the cream off, I recommend using a damp towel.
Wipe the cream away with it until all the hairs are gone.
Don’t forget to read the product’s instructions again because some may recommend washing the cream off while others don’t recommend it.
-
Aftercare
Again, don’t forget the aftercare, which includes applying a moisturizer with aloe vera or shea butter and putting some powder to keep your sensitive skin smooth, refreshed, and protected.
If you’re too lazy or are too afraid to do it yourself, there are always professionals who can help you.
I prefer the professional method because I’m assured that it’s safer and the person knows what he’s doing.
4. Laser Hair Removal
This method is by far my favorite among all the hair removal methods I’ve tried.
Yes, it can be expensive, but I can certainly guarantee that it works!
With this method, the doctor or a professional uses a laser beam that will penetrate your skin to destroy your hair follicles, making your hair fall out.
Remember that laser hair removal is also not permanent, but it lasts longer than other methods.
With this technique, it will roughly take around six weeks before your hair will grow back.
5. Electrolysis
If you are on a budget and prefer a method less expensive than laser, you can try electrolysis.
The main difference between this technique and the laser is the device used to remove your pubic hair.
Electrolysis uses an epilator that sends radio frequencies through your skin to destroy hair follicles.
Another difference between the two professional methods is the number of hair follicles treated at a time.
With electrolysis, your hair follicles are damaged and treated individually.
On the other hand, lasers involve multiple hair follicles.
6. Precautions and Risks During Pubic Hair Removal
If it’s your first time removing your pubic hair, you have to note the following risks and precautions of the various methods I have mentioned above:
- Possible itchiness and redness of your skin when it’s too sensitive.
- Probably an allergic reaction from depilatory creams or gels, so you must always read the ingredients first.
- Accidental cuts, nicks, and scrapes from trimming, waxing, or shaving.
- Rough or bumpy skin after shaving, especially when you neglect to perform aftercare and apply moisturizer.
Remember that these risks are common and will not occur if you strictly follow the right procedure for each hair removal method.
